Barry Young works with HULSEYIP in an Of Counsel capacity and has extensive legal experience in the acquisition, utilization and enforcement of IP, including strategic IP counseling, patent analysis and
opinions, patent prosecution, licensing, and IP litigation. He has a strong technical background in a wide range of complex electrical, mechanical and optical technologies, including computer hardware, architecture, software, storage and data processing, communications systems and networks, semiconductors, electronics, imaging systems, optics and mechanical technologies.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Young was a partner in the Palo Alto office of a first tier national law firm. He established that firm's patent group, built it into a national practice, and represented numerous high tech and start-up clients in strategic IP counseling, IP transactions, and patent and IP litigation matters. Previously, Mr. Young was in-house counsel at Digital Equipment Corporation in Massachusetts where he served as IP litigation counsel, division counsel to engineering vice-presidents, and managed the patent law group. Mr. Young was also a partner in a patent prosecution and litigation firm in the Washington D.C. area, and served as patent counsel and an electronics engineer in research and development with the National Security Agency at Ft. Meade, Maryland.
