Anthony Campbell is a trademarks specialist in the Austin, Texas office of HULSEYIP. Mr. Campbell serves as a trademark specialist at HULSEYIP and consults other attorneys on trademark application, prosecution and protection matters. He has extensive experience with opposition and cancellation issues before the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board (TTAB) and consults other attorneys in TTAB cases and other registration disputes. His trademark experience also includes advertising, marketing and contest law, along with use of image, likeness, name and voice. His litigation experience in the trademark area includes infringement, comparative and deceptive advertising cases, counterfeiting and dilution. With a broad background in marketing and commercial practices, as well as a deep understanding of trademark and related intellectual property legal matters, Mr. Campbell has the ability to provide to HULSEYIP a quality of service and responsiveness of the very highest caliber.
Anthony also assists with visual, graphic and performance artists, authors, designers and architects on copyright licensing and infringement matters, and assists in negotiating performance, reproduction and publication rights agreements. Representative work in this area includes negotiation of publication agreements for authors, graphic artists and photographers; creation of reproduction rights licenses for visual artists including works of a sculptor that are displayed at a major international resort with accompanying miniatures sold at a gift shop and works of painters used to create corporate logos; clearance of rights for a Texas resort to use images licensed by a non-profit organization from a bestowed work; licensing and royalty work for musicians and cease and desist issues related to infringement.
Mr. Campbell has extensive experience in computer and technology law. As an electrical engineer with work experience in computer architecture that has maintained an e-mail address since 1988, he was at the forefront of Internet legal issues, handling domain name litigation in 1996, website user agreements, privacy policies, software licenses, website development and hosting agreements and general on-line, computer, copyright and intellectual property matters.
In addition to his Trademark Trial and Appeals Board (TTAB) experience, Anthony also has specialized administrative court experience handling U.S. Customs and Border Protection cases on intellectual property seizures, penalties and forfeitures.
Aside from his work with one of America’s largest law firms and as general counsel of a leading manufacturer of inkjet printer supplies, Mr. Campbell has served as virtual general counsel or on the advisory board of multiple start-up companies. He has developed corporate policy and strategy, and written confidentiality, non-circumvention and non-compete agreements. Currently, Anthony is on the Board of Directors of a broadband management company and of a non-profit foundation.
In his free time, Anthony is an avid cyclist: HULSEYIP and Mr. Campbell have donated several thousand dollars of proceeds from his work to support his charitable bicycle rides, including rides from Houston to Austin, San Antonio to Austin, and Houston to New Orleans.
